Location and context of this property:

Sirmione is an Italian town of 8.286 inhabitants in the province of Brescia in Lombardy, whose historic center stands on a peninsula that divides the lower Lake Garda. For centuries it was a military outpost, first under the jurisdiction of the monastery of Santa Giulia in Brescia and then under the dominions of Verona and the Serenissima, and was definitively assigned to Brescia in the Napoleonic era.

The main industry of the town is tourism, both for the presence of Roman and medieval remains and for the thermal waters.

Sirmione is located along the peninsula of the same name that extends into Lake Garda for about 4 kilometers and divides the southern lake shore into two parts. Part of the municipal territory extends east of the peninsula to include that of Punta Grò. The inland extends in the direction of the morainic hills that surround the southern part of the lake itself and includes a part of the production area of Lugana.

The municipality borders Peschiera del Garda to the south-east and Desenzano del Garda to the south-west. The section on the lake borders to the east with Lazise and Castelnuovo del Garda and to the north with Padenghe sul Garda.
